Doctor of Psychology
I’ve been in practice for over 35 years working with men, women, teenagers, children, marriages and relationships. My office is two blocks from where Jamboree crosses the 73. Many referrals are from former clients and other professionals.
I work hard at keeping up with the latest research on what works best for particular problems. Together we set goals and I coach in a warm, supportive, and professional style to solve problems and to feel better. My website is http://www.drjohnfry.com
I have given over 400 seminars on stress management to, among others, IBM, NBC, Farmers Insurance, the U.S. Navy, The Los Angeles Times, and the faculties of Fuller Seminary.
In marriage counseling, I see the marriage itself as the client, working to support and improve it. I use John Gottman’s approach, who studied over 3000 couples, some for 30 years, to use the suggestions and techniques that work best.
Common Goals Specified by clients:
Reduce depression, insomnia, anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive thoughts, and worry. Improve assertiveness, self-esteem, and confidence. Anger management, stress management. Help to improve teenager’s or child’s behavior, attitude, relationships. Improve a marriage or other relationship. Solution driven, goal oriented counseling
